FAQ
Do I really need to mix the batter the night before?
Yes — and it's the secret. Letting the batter rest overnight allows the oats to fully hydrate and the flavors to develop. This is exactly how they're made at Bonnie's Restaurant on Aspen Mountain. Skip the overnight rest and you'll get a decent pancake; do it right and you'll get the real thing. It takes about 2 minutes to mix the night before.
What's in the mix?
Whole grain oats, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. That's it. No artificial flavors, no preservatives, nothing unnecessary.
Does it contain allergens?
Yes — the mix contains gluten and dairy. It is not gluten-free and is not suitable for those with celiac disease or dairy allergies.
How many pancakes does one bag make?
One bag makes 8–10 large pancakes, which works out to roughly $1.30 per serving — a pretty good deal for pancakes that taste like a mountain morning in Aspen.
How long does the mix keep?
Store it in a cool, dry place. Check the best-by date printed on your bag. Once you've mixed the batter, cook it within 24 hours of resting.
Where is the mix made?
Right in Bonnie's kitchen on Aspen Mountain at 10,410 feet. It's hand-packed in small batches of 100. In winter, ingredients are snowmobiled up the mountain. In summer, they're driven. It has a genuinely one-of-a-kind journey before it reaches your kitchen.
How long does shipping take?
Typical delivery is within 5–10 business days. We ship from Aspen, Colorado. Expedited options are not currently available, so plan accordingly if you need it for a specific date.
Can I subscribe to get the mix regularly?
Yes! You can subscribe and save on the product page. Options include monthly delivery (15% off), every 2 months (12% off), or every 6 months (10% off). You can skip or cancel anytime.
